to you and anyone else thinking about saying the same thing
if thats the way you want it mate then just try,
but I can't promise that the intensive care you'll need won't be long and painful though.
as i've already stated to you volvo-bigbrother (and Haz by the way) that the parts were sent out from me, and as far as i'm concerned, everyone on here has had it in for me since the word go.
as far as i know you have recieved the items and decided that you will take me for a ride. (just another stupid r5 owner that is ruining your precious forum by using a volvo engine (originally built and designed by renault) in a non volvo car)

I wouldn’t take anyone for a ride, if I had got the parts I wouldn’t have just bought a brake calliper off eBay and a window motor from the scrap yard. And if I had any big issues with you because you drive an R5 I wouldn’t have bought the parts in the first place. This thread wasn’t supposed to turn into something to string you up as a thief I just wanted to know if anyone else had the parts, but I can’t control what other people post. If its got lost in the post then you can report it to them, they will investigate and try to locate the parcel.

The simple matter of it mate is that if you have sent the items, you will have a reciept(if sent by royal mail). This will also automatically cover the items for £30 insurance. The item would be signed for if delivered(another benefit of standrd parcel) so if you want to find out if VBB is giving you a ride, pop on down to the post office and hand over the receipt and explain that the item hasn't shown up and they can check. I also think that a copy of that reciept should be posted( i'd suggest recorded delivery) to VBB. He will then have knowledge the items were posted. You should at least be able to get £30 back if they have been lost in the post.
Oh and the comments about popping by were meant in jest. And please, please please dont assume that if i did come round (hypothetically) it would be me ending up injured if any violence should arise. It's ever so easy boast down the forum but in the person(and in my person i am 6ft2", 17 stone and play regular rugby at under 21's team for one of the best teams in the southwest) things change quite a bit...
Oh and don't assume you are being mis-treated because you own a renault 5. People on this forum are pretty open minded and the R5 debate in the other section shows that it's about a 50/50 split of letting R5 ppl on the forum and most people dont really care. I myself love renault 5's. The fact of the matter is you had a contract with VBB to fulfill. He paid you money to post some parts. He hadnt heard anything and you were proving to be quite un-contactable. He posted to make other people aware of this (its happened before on the forum) and to try and get some advice.
If the items were posted and you have the reciept for that(they may even keep a log of all items posted at the post office?) there is no problem...

just for your own personal comfort, your description of yourself makes no odds as I, myself am 6ft3" 11 stone and have been doing martial arts (hand to hand and weapons) since i was bout 10 (i'm now 23). rugby players may be big and strong but come on mate lol get back to reality.
------------------------------------
He hadnt heard anything and you were proving to be quite un-contactable.
--------------------
the 2 reasons for that would be
1: the fact that unless i'm on here talking to another one of the renault/volvo hybrid boys, i generally don't come on regular as i'm verbaly attacked (whether its meant in jest or not)
2: i just found out i'm going to be a dad, so i've had some things that are a little more important on my mind lately. also the other reason why i'm a little protective over any un-invited person helping themselves to things on my property.
have contacted the postoffice my end and they are looking into where the parcel has got to, in the meantime they have told me that until they say whether its lost or they have found it, I can't claim compensation as it still officially exist's in the postal service somewhere.
the friendly guy at the post office also let me know they can take up to 6 months to process a compensation claim for a lost item.

Good job. I dont mean to offend in any way mate. I was only making a joke! You seem to have had a bad experience of us on this forum as we are a pretty easy going bunch. The circumstances(not being able to do paypal etc and lack of contact which i understand your reasons for) just helped to make the situation look a little more dodgy. I'm just glad that its all being sorted. I just felt inclined to offer advice in a situation I have a little knowledge in. Take it easy dude and congrats on fatherhood

Chris, i'm just glad that it really all has turned out ok and that it wasn't a con. Sometimes it's easy to suspect the worst, there's been a few cons to do with 480 parts in the past (i personally lost £50) so people are somewhat wary.
About the comments some people have made- they are a jokey bunch, stab vest stuff was probably as serious as a bouncy castle
That's one of the problems of forums- no inflections in tone or manner can be perceived by the reader, things get taken out of context, and before we all know where we are we have a riot on our hands......
Hope it's all sorted anyway.

bit unfair since their volvos are over half a ton heavier (volvo 480's weigh in at a gross of 1355kg - 1460kg, my 5 weighs in at a feather weight 800kg.
should be worth a laugh lol.
