Well, I would have been going out if the C30 battery wasn't flat.
That's now on charge. Headlights usually turn off with ignition but for some reason, side-lights do not - no warning. I know this now.
Anyway. Once the 480 is back on the road, whenever this may be, I won't hold my breath... I have been gathering parts to renew all the suspension etc. I'll pop a list here and do chip in if you think I'm missing anything, grateful to know. Jeff has had around 75 texts a day already. Sorry....
(Seriously needs to consider giving up the day job to be full-time 480 carer).

I plan to
hopefully get the rear control arms and the springs refurbished..... I did purchase those Tedgum bushings as mentioned recently on here. I got mine via eBay from Lithuania at a total of £61.71 (making them £15.42 each inc. delivery).
Oh, holding off on the splash panels F/R until it comes out of current garage as that's another £££.
I have had a good time in the spares area recently. Just trying to get hold of anything that pops up which doesn't seem readily available. I now have a set of rear lenses to refurb if there is ever an emergency! Total cost of £50.
I now have three spare front light clusters. I got a digital clock for £10, under bonnet light £5, seatbelt arms, load cover etc etc. Many bits of just-in-case stuff all reasonably priced. I'm a total eBay stalker haha. I also got front grille badge too as mine was missing the black inserts. Yes, I could have put any bit of rubber/plastic in there but...ya know.
Brinkie did my info centre etc in May so that's great to have working again (if it still is when I see it again!)
I'd love some front snow trays if anyone is ever selling! I found some but they never arrived and I was refunded.
Hopefully it will get an MOT at some point in the next few months but I plan on getting it done in April too as a November MOT for a mostly summer car is a pain if I don't want to take it out in the wet. Poor thing still hasn't managed to get a service as it's never on the road! I have all Volvo parts for this and will supply decent oil if it doesn't go into Volvo. Stoneacre, Grimsby and Clive Brook in Bradford/Huddersfield have always been pleasant to deal with so I will see if finances will allow at the time. Good for the history books, I guess. The C30 is due service in December too and has full Volvo service history so it'd be a shame to ruin it's run!
It will, at some point, go in for that door paint. He said he'd touch up a few other tiny bits of rust too. And, again, I still plan on the stainless exhaust from Tube Engineering in Newtoft near me. One caliper has already been replaced so I'd like to do the others at some point too.
I think I've spent well in excess of £1000 on parts alone in the past few months, therefore, hopefully making it
nearly worth half of what I paid for it when it's all sorted.
By the time I actually get this all done, it might stay driveable for a month or two...wouldn't want to jinx it though! Then it'll no doubt start needing body work! Oh, the things we put up with for these beautiful beasts!
