Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

having seen the front and rear I really like that design when I'd only seen the side I really was not sure

i think so, there was a little article about this car in the newspaper here where they said it could seet 4 people. it will also come with the same engines as the S40 and V50 so that means 5 cil-power(since it uses a S40/V50 platform) and there will be a T5 version
![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
(hope they'll make a 300bhp 4wd R version

it looks very toyota to me. it has none of the long loks a 480 and a p1800 has.. it looks like a new volvo series little brother.. it has no 480 likes at all
there is no independance.. the car looks short, instead of sleek and long like ours..
I would rather have an rx 8 with volvo badge than this "otto normalverbracher" type
gr gr gr
but ther have been so many idea's.. I bet this isn't the one again...
luck,

they have pitched up a few Ideas which have been claimed to be
the new 480 all of the styling studies have looked great to me
I'd bet this could be the one it looks ready and nothing is too wacky
for production

see first said the blind one
haha
there was no successsor to the jenssen volvo p1800 for dozen of years..
its their styleof doing things.
and something else.. it much more is the successor of the 343, aka 340 / 360 than a sportive 480 es turbo just another small hatchback with a volvo nose.
it just hasn't style.. Its a toyota
luck,

Nice, but it's on the wrong side of generic, the 480 had individuality, which is what made it great, but this hasn't, it looks like too many other cars and could easily end up being just another hatchback in the crowd
The thing that could set it aside is the power, if what was said originally is anything to go by
Not too sure about the rear spoiler either

I think it is different from the rest of the small cars on the road, but I think it's a pity that all Volvo's have to look the same (the front of them anyway).
I do like the rear window and the two seats in the back, like the 480. The rear window is to sloping (if that is the correct word), it makes the car seem a little to small.
The new Civic (like it or not) is the way to design cars, daring designs add diversity on the road.

In Top Gear magazine there's a picture of the interior and it shows two seats, just like the 480, seperated by an armrest, also just like our 480s. I can't host pics, or I'd scan it and post it and the search on the Top Gear site is hopeless for finding anything but info on cars to buy, ie. can't be used to search for articles. Ah well, I'm sure there will be more pictures popping up left and right in the near future. So far, I love it. It looks a bit buggy-ish from some angles, definately 480-ish from the back and very clearly Volvo (a bit stronger character wise though) from the front, which is a good thing for me cuz I happen to like that nose. It's hard to tell from pictures though if the seperate parts come together as a nice whole. We'll see. The only thing I'd like them to get rid of is that spoiler (airfoil, whatever you wanna call it). Makes it look cheap. And I wish they went with just regular old round or even oval shaped exhaust pipes instead of following the trend for weird triangular shaped misfits. We can hope, it's still "only a concept"

In top gear the 480 also gets a mention when they talk about the rear
hatch being just glass

2.4L Turbo???
Looks crud from the front... not sporty enuff. They're trying to keep it in the family, but when the rest of the family are luxury saloons, doesn't lend itself well to a sporty little coupe... Should go out on a limb and stick pop ups on hehe. Seriously tho, those front light clusters are way too big for a car that size.

I believe new safety laws mean that pop ups are now banned on new cars due to the damage they do to pedestrians. I believe this came about in 2001(?) Hence the Honda Nsx losing it's pop ups. I'm almost certain this is true but read it so long ago can't remember properly. It was when i was in a dreamy mood looking at the Nsx stats and it was on a review.

Bull Bars are banned
But only on new cars! The new cars are plastic or have a special system to protect people. Don´t know how this functions exactly

I always think that they should educate the people not the walk in front of moving cars, that's a lot easier than banning items on my car
Maybe we should fit all cars with a matras on the front...

You know they did once trial a car with a pedestrian air bag if the car hit someone an airbag would blow out from under the bonnet
