I've decided on my new rims...

Springs, shock absorbers, wheels. Questions about this can be asked in this category.

I've decided on my new rims...

Post by DaKyy » Wed Feb 21, 2007 1:53 pm

And had to create a topic about it :)

Mainly because I decided to ditch the Borbet A's and wen't for a bit more original look.

Now someone tell me these doesn't look like Atlas rims? Only these are 16" and 7" wide. 4x100 PCD available with 35 offset. Also they cost about 200e less than Borbets :P

Well does it resemble Volvo Pegasus then? :)

Bummer, looks like the Etabeta Art has been discontinued. Any suggestions on similar rims?

Seems I'm on a lonely crusade here, but does anyone have experience with width of 7 or 7.5 inches and 480 arches?

I found out a quite neat offset calculator at http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp that says the 7.5 inch rim will get 23mm closer to the inner arch and whole 27mm to the outer arch. It would be a disaster if I'd order a set and find out it wouldn't fit...

Could you not go for a 5 stud adaptor or something, then go for a set of the original Pegasus R alloys??

Or why not try looking for some like these? I do like the idea of nice simple lines though.

I just had a quick look on www.alloywheels.com and found these:

Dezent T
Lenso CF
Lenso RS5

Just a few that caught my eye anyway!

Thanks Dan :)

Those adapters/spacers are illegal here for road use. But I really like both of those Lenso rims, CF would be ideal. Have to start hunting them down then.

One nutter had fitted 18"x7J wheels with 215/35 tires to a 480. He said there were some scrubbing on rear with people on backseat, but nothing else :)

The CF's are my faves too. Never been a fan of 'split rim' look wheels, but those are nice. They do them in black and grey too...

Does anyone have experience on this seller? Looks like veeery dodgy to me... Mainly because its so cheap. There is also an ebay seller @ http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Al-Buraq-Wheels-Ltd and he only has 15 feedbacks...

Is the wheel bolts supposed to be M12x1.5mm or M12x1.25mm? I've had mixed responses as someone says 440/460 is 1.25mm and 480 is 1.5mm. I can't understand why would the 480 be any different than other 400-series? The bolts supplied with those rims were 1.5mm - did I get the right bolts? I think not.

Wouldn't be so sure. I also received spigot rings for 73mm->57.1mm. And it should be 52.1mm for Volvo 400-series :D
