Engine Electrics

Here you can talk about the joy owning a Volvo 480 brings. Non-technical discussions take place here, like what is the difference between an ES and a S version.

Apologies for net getting back to you,Norm57 - I've been a bit distracted.
Update:
ignition bits posted to Robou for inspection & modification. However, Robou reports that the parcel arrived damaged and re-packed but both amplifiers (old & new) and the coil were missing!
Hey ho, further back than I was four (4) months ago.
Started the search for new bits but no luck so far.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and hoping the New Year brings you all you wish for.

Did you get a coil Mike?‎ I seem to remember it is the same as a Porsche 928, which goes to explain why they are so expensive!

Greetings All,
Car back from garage. Failed MOT (lights - warning & mains) but the run home brought a big grin; the car runs so sweetly: thanks Robou!
Robou sourced replacements for the bits that had gone missing and sent them with the modified ecu.
The parcel arrived intact with no signs of interference.
Garage installed the bits then sent me the good news.
Now I can start on the other problems.
Thanks for the help and support.

Really pleased for you Mike. Would love a Robou'd Turbo in my life one day. See you at a meet this year?‎

What do you reckon the problem with the main lights is? Is it a case of the high beams not latching on or not being able to do the instantainous flash? If so, this will be the stalk unfortunately and you'll have to get a good second hand one. Dead easy to change though. ‎
