Hey guys,
The brakes on my turbo feel shockingly bad! The pads and discs seem fine but I have to really push my foot down to stop the car. I'm gonna get the brake fluid flushed at a garage soon(abs on the car so gonna get the garage to deal with the high pressure) and hoping it might help but I'm not sure if the servo assistance is assisting...
When the engine is off and I pump the brake pedal, in other 480's the pedal would get hard and if I started teh car it would immediately relax. With the turbo it does not get get hard(the pedal) and when I start the car nothing changes.
I also tried this and started teh car with pedal pressed down as hard as I could and the ABS light didnt go off and the brake warning light came on. I then turned car off and started again and abs light went out straight away and no brake warning.
Any ideas guys? No point getting this turbo rich modded until I can stop it!!!
Also car has been sat for a few months and is in desperate need of a service (oil is yucky and power stering fluid is a thick black!) so dont know i anything has seized?
Brakes not feeling too great...

How does it feel when engine is off? Soft?
How about started engine? All the time soft or there a period when it's harder?
It also can be pressure holding valve, it's on hose from servo to intake manifold, looks like ufo or whatever.
And one more how does the car brake? Good or pedal in da floor and nothing?

Dude,
On the inlet manifold there is a black hard pipe on the otherside of the throttle body. It going to a big sisc looking thing on the drivers side (UK cars) if that is leaking then you brakes will be shit.
look at the below picture and I have marked it red.

Pedal will go almost to the floor with the engine off! Doesnt feel like it is building pressure like it should. With engine on it feels really stiff. I also think the system is leaking from the engine bay somewhere but Due to the abs being crammed in between the engine and the airbox, it is a bastard to try and find any of the pipes. It could be somethin else leaking tho!

.
Rob!
I had this problem for months even though I wasted a few quid on a new ABS pump!
It was all four wheel sensors were covered in dirt and brake dust!
Trust me,clean these off and you woont belive the difference.
Do you have the ABS light on also???
Groomus.
