Joke-Volvo prices for rear discs and pads now!

Post by catgroom » Mon Aug 01, 2005 6:36 pm

This nearly made me fall over this one people!

Rang German,Swedish and French for a set of rear discs and pads for my Turbo. They no longer stock the discs.Euro Car Parts quoted me a paltry 78 quid including VAT,splendid.

Have a guess how much Volvo want with the VAT without ringing them first!!! :)

I know too - just rang for the 2L. GSF here I come - if the motor fails the test. Even Camberley Auto Factors the local big supplier were only 20% down on Volvo hence 80% over GSF.

When I degunged the ebay turbo I bought a can of eng oil additive (instead of diesel) from CAF and when I went round to Halfrauds to buy something else (following broken spanner on sump nut syndrome) they were more than a £ cheaper!! Well miffed.

Just got an email from GSF to say the discs I odered are discontinued, (I thought £6.50 was too good to be true), and the current ones are £18.50 each - still half the price of Volvo.
