Martin, If I were you, before you make ANY modifications to your car, you need to get it running right in standard trim first, so I would go to volvo, get their recommended plugs, then get them to sort out what they messed up when they did your starter, and once its running well, drive it for at least 1000 miles to makes ure it really is better ( I allowed alomost a month/1500 miles and a cambelt change, after my transplant, before I started messing with it, to allow any gremlins to surface, none did thankfully)
It might cost money to get it running well standard, but it will be money well spent, and probably produce as much of a gain as a small mod done to it as is, if you see what i mean.
Only then can you tell whether any mods have made a real diifference to the performance of the car, or whther they have just compensated for the current shit running.
Also if you don't, and any of your symptoms get worse, you won't know whether it's the mods, or whther the existing problem has got worse, maybe pointing to a more sinister lurking problem.
All the above, with all due respect, and all IMHO of course, but it really what i would do.
Chris
