Floor mats for a 480

Everything that doesn't belong in the previous categories probably belongs here. Interiour (how are the seats mounted? how to remove the CEM?) and exteriour (how to replace the popup-lights shock absorbers or a door) are discussed here!

Floor mats for a 480

Post by Martin63 » Tue Apr 13, 2021 2:08 pm

Assuming I can't find find a set of original 480 floor mats, any recommendations for an alternative set? There's plenty of choices on Amazon and eBay.

Thanks

As someone with 480 mats I can say you're better off finding an alternative as they just get in the way and (in my car at least) don't conform to the central tunnel.

I think any dark/medium grey mat would be ok if you asked me, but then it is all preference really

Fix drivers side speaker
Annoying Scratching Squeak

I got mine made by Autostyle. Now when I say made, I do very much mean MADE.

They're a manufacturer, so will do just about anything you want. Lambswool? Sheepskin? Not a problem.

The pattern they have is perfect for the 480.

I sent an original set off to a company who copied the original size.

If you are prepared to do a little trimming to the drivers mat so it fits round the footrest, within the next couple of weeks I should have a spare set of 440 genuine rigid floor mats - the other 3 mats are identical for the 480, just drivers mat is different as 440 doesn't have the footrest.

Thanks everyone - I went for these in the end. Not cheap, but you typically get what you pay for and they do look like they are really good.

I have also been told that the original Volvo 480 mats are likely to be pretty knackered after 30 or so years!

and they do tend to turn green over the years - I've experimented with a selection of different dyes but nothing has worked so they must be 100% synthetic. Ok in a green car, but otherwise, not good !

They were done in the super luxury finish (bottom one) - Next time I'll probably just go standard (top one)
