1989 Grey being dismantled

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

1989 Grey being dismantled

Post by kenthesweep » Mon Jan 04, 2021 9:19 pm

Unfortunately I have a 1989 standard with sunroof which is riddled with tinworm, so started to extract organs for helping other 480's - is there anything that could help you?

Please give me a message or a call - 07878 175690...
1993 LE, 1973 bmw 2002 Cabrio, 1978 Fiat X1/9 with Uno turbo engine(!) 1978 X1/9 1300, 1985 LHD Fiat x1/9 with 9k miles,
Oh, & some bikes... & wife doesn't understand...

Hi kenthesweep, I live in Switzerland so it would be a bit complicated (but I am really not in a hurry and have relatives in the UK) - but I could be interested in a right hand side (driver side in the UK) door pocket... if it is not already cracked of course.
PS. Thank you!
PPS. Against payment of course.
Just got my first 480 (August 2020)!
1990 ES 1.7, Superwhite
I have ticked off around 45 items, cosmetic and mechanical
Remaining:
- Vibration at 1500 RPM (hard to locate)
- Rough idle (harder one)
- Touch-ups
- Change rims (Pollux to slightly fresher Atlas)
- install my “new” flawless door pocket
I also just bought a 2004 XC90.

Apologies, the door pocket is in fact cracked, so cannot help with that one...

I found the crack can be rectified by sticking some heavy duty tape on the inside. If this is insufficient I may explore going about mending it with modelling techniques
Current Jobs to do (23/1/22):
Fix Central Locking
Fix drivers side speaker
Annoying Scratching Squeak

In fact I have repaired mine (big piece completely broken off) with a piece of Plexiglas and plastic glue. But as the pocket has already had a previous repair the fault lines are very visible, and I need to tidy up the dried glue runnings. It will be okayish, but a new / undamaged original is on my bucket list...

Doesn't matter, roof hasn't changed throughout production. If your car is later than the donor, it will fit and the wiring is already present. You need to preserve everything from the roof, including the headliner.

Model years 1994 and 1995 only, but they were the only ones left as a replacement, so many have been retrofitted to older cars.
