Another dreamer?

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

Any idea what 440 Turbos are worth? I am beginning to have a 440 Turbo shaped itch I am thinking about wanting to try and scratch...
If you think a 480 turbo is rare, then don't look for a 440.

If, and its a very big if, you see one for sale, buy it.

Looks like the only survivors are autos (no good for me) let's hope HML inaccuracy is a positive in this case.

Damn Renault turbo modders...
While I always keep an eye out for other Renault turbos, I am not interested in R5 turbos, but, I do always check to see if any are mounting plundered B18FTs...

Always going to be a difficult debate especially as the available cars become less and less.

I have been working on classic cars for years and seen projects go from £100 in 2001 to £1000 today. I would say that modern classics are harder to source parts for.

if you break the £700 car down, the early parts would add up to a fair bit. It is nice the seller has given someone the opportunity to save or salvage rather than scrap it. I am sure the price is negotiable but when selling you need to start somewhere.

Unless you are set on a restoration this is probably too far gone. But nice to see cars are still tucked away.

You make a very valid point here; all of us would probably love to find a rot free car; but I think we long since reached a point where they don’t exist, or are being clung onto by the owners who’ll have them until they breathe their last.

I think if you really want to 480, your going to have resign yourself to the fact that your going to have a project, in some shape or form. Because if you don’t, they’ll all be gone.

Indeed, having had a WR quattro from new, it has been a real journey watching it depreciate and then appreciate massively, and now the only hope of getting one sub-15k is through a project, but those cars are notorious for unobtainium. Seriously if you think 480s are bad for that

When I was on the hunt for a 480, I was paranoid I was going to "miss the boat" and they will be crazy money before I got one, but I feel very lucky I was able to get what was essentially a runner for £650, I feel I would be hard pressed to get that result with an early car 1 1/2 years later.

Of course I have dreams of my friends one day going "Ben you know that strange car you have, well we have just found one in a garage we have just acquired and don't know what to do with it..."

Seen many 440 Turbo and a 460 Turbo gone to the banger racers sadly. People just don't care for a Volvo 400-series :(

Pictured in classic car weekly today.being auctioned by Bonhams on the 22nd. No reserve, so let’s see where the market really is.

Certainly it'll be interesting to see (although repeat Jeff's point earlier about assuming it goes to a real buyer...)

Totally forgot about this one!

So first of all, it apparently passed an MOT!

My spider senses are tingling because it also passed without a single advisory......

Next shocker....

Its sold, at auction for £ 2,475 inc. premium

I don't think we need to be worried that this is some sort of new benchmark. What we do need to worry about, is it's new owner.
