I am sure that I am not alone on this one.
Why is it so hard to buy a quality car fuse these days.
I have original fuses that are nearly 30years old and the quality is far superior to most of the dross available today.
Would go as far to say that the most common to source are dangerous. Plastic melting, blade thin or wide, they really a fire hazard.
The ones that look like this, cheap plastic and a notch on the blades are the worst culprits.
The only ones I have found of merchantable quality are Bussman/Littlefuse.
We have some of these kits at work, not massively expensive but little use for 20 x 1a & 2a fuses in the kits. https://uk.farnell.com/w/c/circuit-prot ... ade%20fuse
Has anyone used a decent brand recently?

Re: Quality fuses
on some of my early scrapyard visits in the mid=nineties when I had my first project 480, I raided a couple of fuse boxes on scrap 480s/440s so my pot of spare fuses contains some "original" quality fuses...

Re: Quality fuses
you can never have too many fuses, although usually none of correct size
