Hello folks,
Was just looking at the turbos on sale via eBay this evening, and noticed both have registration plates with only 2 digits (one is K37*** and the other is F52***). My current wedge is L41*** and I previously owned a red ES M69*** (now defunct I think, as no MOT for 5 years)
I'm pretty sure at least one of the cars on the last mini-meet had a double digit plate too, and I got to thinking whether there was some odd quirk with the marque, that somehow increased their chances of early registration, or allocation of shorter plates than the usual 3 digits? I may be way off with this, of course, given that four of my other wedgies all had 'conventional' 3 digit plates (J339***, M279*** M373*** and one I can't remember...doh!)
Anyone else got an original 2 digit plate?
All the best!
Martin

Re: Double Digit Registration Plates - A 480 Phenomenon?
I believe my F69 is the original plate, typing in the number and incrementing the digit from F60-70 shows a batch of Volvos with 2-digits of which mine was F69 (no.9 in the batch I presume)
The quattro is also C77, that is the only Audi in a batch of VWs, but VAG garage might have held the plate for it. Double digits are certainly eye-catching
