Horns

Horns

Post by 100 » Mon Jul 01, 2019 2:57 pm

One of my horns has rusted to death, whilst the other is sounding fairly meek.

Considering my liberal use, it would be nice to have something with a little more oomph. That being said, I like the tone of the original and I've been informed that, when they are working properly, they have decent volume.

So... does anybody have any decent condition horns they would be willing to sell on, or is anybody aware of where I might buy one new?

Thanks

It seems Scandix has them, but are both horns the same?

I'm driving around with the wrong horns. They're decent ones but they aren't the correct tone for the 480. The proper 480 tone is a deafening bellow above most cars. ‎I think the parts catalogue has the frequencies of the horns stated so if you can avoid the mistake I made then I'd recommend doing so.

By Jingo, the boy's correct:

According the book, you're looking at 335Hz and 400Hz! (the 480 has 2 horns)

Knew it!

Excellent, but will any 335Hz or 400Hz do?

Excuse my ignorance...!

It seems these two frequencies do come as a pair (although not dual connector): https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/163719488439?c ... gIB_vD_BwE

horns are horns. Any dual connector horn will work.
Except you now want one that's 335hz and one that's 400hz!

Good luck finding that information from suppliers, as these days they want your registration number to sell you an airfreshner!
