Loose connectors and sensors?

Loose connectors and sensors?

Post by djbengan » Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:08 am

Hello! Complete noob here, just brought home a one owner 480 turbo.
Trying to sort a few things out but my Google Fu is not good enough I guess.

I found a sensor yesterday just laying about in the engine bay. Where does it go/what does it do?

I have also found some loose connectors, mainly one white cable with a spade in some kind of grommet and two lose spades just to the left of the ignition coil. Car is from 88.

Best regards

Can’t see the pic.... have you shared it within google drive?

There are a few “spare cables” in the engine bay for diagnostic stuff, but a picture would definitely help

ah, ok those pictures are showing up.

2nd one I think is your Knock sensor - should be bolted to the block and I wouldn't be driving a turbo without it!
3rd one - Looks to be down near the auxiliary water pump - is that working?

The knock sensor is there, under the idle valve thingy. So it's not that one. But Aux water pump seems to be the right track. But that does not fix the boost cut...

Just an update if anyone finds this thread.

The sensor pictured sits on the _underside_ of the fuel injector rail.
