Green 480 Kirkcudbright

When you spot a 480 and wonder if it's someone from the forum: ask it here! One rule: do NOT post registration plates.

Green 480 Kirkcudbright

Post by dcwalker » Wed Jun 06, 2018 8:16 am

We were away in Scotland last week; I turned away from the ATM in Kirkcudbright High Street to see a green, N-reg 480ES go past. Must have been one of the last models sold on that basis. Being driven by a grey-haired lady and looked to be in pretty good shape...

As per the other thread, I also saw a peacock-green 480 yesterday in Haxby which I think was probably Yorkshire480.

Amazing - you go months and months without seeing another 480 (other than at our meets) and suddenly there are two within a week! :D

Haven't seen any around my way for months.

However, did spot a white 480 on TV last night. Re-watching 'Goodnight Sweetheart' (sad I know but GOF etc. leaves me cold) and in episode 1 series 6 (20 Apr. 1999) there's one in plain sight. Even resorted to looking it up on vehicle smart app. to see if it still existed but couldn't get a match.

Everytime SHMBO :wife: watches an old Morse, Frost etc. I just keep looking at the cars. A bit like Gary Sparrow, I'm living in the past!!
1994 480GT - arrived!!
XC60 and XC70 for the daily grind.
C70 Coupé Convertible for the sunny days. Should sell it but can't!

That sounds worryingly familiar - join the club!! :D

One of the very first episodes of Taggart (maybe the very first?) the couple who (I seem to recall) will go on to become the victims come home and get out of a 480 - no distant shots though so you need to recognise the parts you are looking at...

I did see a 480 on the A34 near Newbury the other evening! Can’t remember if it was white or red though...

It’s interesting looking here and seeing what other tv appearances the 480 has had! Shame a couple have been destroyed though :(

It is indeed, there’s also one for cars in video games, though sadly there wasn’t really any 480’s on there
