Re: Even more REALLY ???!!!
A friend of mine drew this to my attention - obviously I haven't seen it "in the metal" but from the two meagre pictures it looks no better than either Lily or Jaster's 480 (sorry Will, can't remember if your has a name). Can't comment on Al's - didn't really get a good look at it in May!
Ok, so it looks to have a full Volvo service history (if so and if it adds value, why spoil it for the last one?) but otherwise...its much trumpeted low mileage is higher than mine, and we all know the issues low mileage can cause (changed a fair few parts on Lily when I first got her that were just dying of old age rather than the wear and tear that should have killed them off earlier.
My response was that if someone really does have £5,480 burning a hole in their pocket desperately begging to be exchanged for a green 480 GT, then without making any promises I am certainly willing to listen .
If it goes for anything like that I seriously need to reconsider Lily's agreed value for insurance...

Re: Even more REALLY ???!!!
I must admit that I'm rather attached to my car, and unless some kind of serious financial disaster befalls me, I would be unwilling to part with it for even £5k. Your point stands about insurance though if this thing sells!
I suppose it's a case of don't ask don't get to a certain extent. For all we know, there is someone out there with money to burn who really wants a green GT with low mileage who will go for it, although I suspect that the price may be revised a bit before it goes...

I must admit that following my comments I was talking about this with Lee, and she asked whether then, if someone came along right now and offered me £5,000 for Lily, I'd take it? My immediate answer was no, I have no wish whatsoever to part with her.Jaster wrote:I must admit that I'm rather attached to my car, and unless some kind of serious financial disaster befalls me, I would be unwilling to part with it for even £5k. So you are quite right Jaster, the attachment for me is too strong as well. Tough luck all those who were obviously about to make a bee-line to my door with their pockets full of cash...
