WANTED: A set of Engine Hoses

Post by Stuart Bird » Tue Jul 11, 2017 12:35 pm

Hello,

I can't find the first post so if anyone has a set of hoses spare (as new as possible),
I'm interested as the 480 ES special edition, after engine overhaul, could use a new set.

Regards,
Stuart Bird.

I was looking at a set too.

If you are interested you can send your existing hose off to be copied and reproduced in silicone.

Once they have a template they can remake them on demand. Not cheap but less than you might think.

I have bought a couple of sets for cars where someone has already sent the hoses in. So far I am quite happy because the alternatives we very poor.

I know a guy breaking a 2.0 so will ask if he has the hoses for the purpose.

I would also like to replace all my hose system along with a new pump and radiator.

How much are we talking about for the hose set, give or take?

It all depends the number of hoses, the size and the complexity.

I bought 2 sets this year for different cars one was £150 inc vat for 6 shaped hoses and a straight over flow hose. The other set was £205 for 12 shaped, 2 90* hoses and a straight overflow.

At a guess the volvo should be around the £100-150 mark, there is the hose with the T section of a different diameter and the bleed screw which may cost more to produce.

In the grand scheme it isnt bad based on availability and durability. Also bet it would be cheaper than skandix :hopping:

Would be interested for the turbo too - Although I'm betting the hoses are completely different!
