Remote and alarm question?

From CEM to VEM, from LED to lightbulb and more. If you have an electrical problem, like a broken info-centre, search for answers in this category. This is also the place to be when you expect the problem to be of an electrical nature...

Remote and alarm question?

Post by carlp » Tue Feb 02, 2016 9:40 pm

Hi,
Excuse my general 480 ignorance... Were any 480's fitted with alarms/immobiliser and or remote door locks as standard?

My 1992 Turbo has an alarm but no immobiliser.. I don't know if it was standard though.. I had a 1994 440 turbo that had remote central locking and an immobiliser.. I suppose the later model of the 480 had it as well..

No. They only came with the key operated alarm.

480s never came from the factory with remote locking or complex immobilisers.
Usually, those that had them retro fitted, went wrong... Ask Jim - he's ripped more out than he cares to remember I'm sure!

Even the P2 440/460s that came from the factory with them, seldom work without fault

Hammers can't fix a 480!!!
