Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

JIm
Sorry been off line for a while, Norway etc
I was in past Mr MoT this week (between trips) for other car and I asked about 'advisory' on ball joints. I said typical mileage SWAMBO does and he suggested that they would still be an advisory next year!

Hi Jim
Having sold on your tow bar, that you sold me (Oct09) but I never fitted, during a touring holiday we came home to find the house ransacked and the sole key for my current 480 missing. I will contact the previous owner but I am sure he said there was only one key.
As you have a lot of knowledge of taking 480s apart can you advise me of the neatest way to break in to my car before someone uses the key to drive it away, although I have padlocked the gates. Oh yes - do you have a set of locks and keys?
Cheers, Steve

Hi Steve so sorry to hear your house was ransacked and the car key stolen. Can be of help here in a number of ways but I cant post up on an open forum on how to get into a 480 without a key so I will pm you. The lock combinations can be changed easily enough You just need a key of known combination . The biggest problem you will have is removing the ignition lock without a key you will have to drill it out but the good news is its a hellofalot easier in a RH drive car than a LH drive. Suggest you read this thread I posted up a while ago
http://www.volvo-480-europe.org/forum/v ... 24&t=18370
it will help. You should be able to enter your car without breaking anything but given the circumstances if you do happen to break a window I will provide a replacement glass free of charge if you can cover the postage. I will check out a lockset for you later this afternoon.

Hi Steve just realised that I always removed the locks with a key so I reckon you would need to drill the all the barrells out.

Hey Jim,
Just wandering if you have any rear wiper motors?
Mine's what's known in the trade as "Kiffed!"
Could also do with the sealing washer where the spindle goes through the glass... I've got enough water coming into my boot as it is!!
Oh, could also do with an oil pressure sender (The one for the guage)
Appologies if I've asked you for these before.
Thanks,
Steve
P.s, Many thanks for sending me a diagram of the bonnet realease mechanism, helped no end with gettin it open!

[quote="glasgowjim"]I have been asked by several forum members if I could list the spares I have ...
I have put this in the sales part of the forum although this is not a parts for sale list. I reiterate that I am not a dealer/breaker just another enthusiast who has happened to build up a store of spare parts. But if it saves forum members having to spend ages searching the internet to locate a part to keep their 480 on the road then this post will have served its purpose.
So here goes for the main parts :-...
Do you have front lethae seats or upholsery or all leather seats/interior? clear front lights? air intake pipe for 1.7i ?
Thank you for your time!
With best regards,
Dennis

Hi Jim, do you still have the front passenger side seat belt? I really only need the part that the belt clicks into (which is bolted to the seat). Many thanks, Tom
