Post by bigdickbuster » Thu Jan 05, 2012 8:56 pm

Hello guys and gals :)

My friend have problem two problems: He lose his password to this Forum. This is first problem. Second, more important is:

Did the B18EP/FP engine will work with electrical installation/sensors etc. from B18E engine? He make a lot of work, unfortunately useless. Car have 4-6 KRPM in the idle.

Your advices are last chance!

Thanks in advance!

Hi Adrian

what about the engine management unit ? Does this match the engine. What colour is the engine temperature sensor (next to plug 1) is it blue or black plastic as there are 2 types.

regards jim.

Hello Jim!

Thanks for the response. He replaced ECU two times and all sensors. He replaced inlet manifold because he suspected air leak. Everything was useless. He bought this car and engine had problem with idle. He found a lot of strange solutions under the bonnet. He wanted to organise this mess. Now, mess is bigger than was before he started ;)

simple as this... the older engines usually running with a black coloured intake manifold will run a different crank sensor which means different wiring loom which means different ecu's. For example i have a 1993 engine with silver inlet with 215mm plate running blue ecu's with a 'two' pin crank sensor... this only allows me to run the later ecu's. Some of the older engines have 3 pins on the crank sensor and will only run 200mm plate with older orange ecu's i don't know where all these other colours go, as in which flywheel size they run all i know is you can only run a later flywheel with a later ecu

Hello
It's me :) I fixed my problem with password.
The car is at the mechanics and he is close to repair him. He said i must change the engine wires and ECU those from B18EP, becouse with wires and ECU from B18E this engine will not work properly. Yesterday he call to me and said that he put the nozzle to hose of crankshaft ventilation (he said that the nozzle should to be there, but somebody took her) and cold engine on idle have a 1100rpm. I searched in Vadis something about that nozzle, but I haven't found anything.

That the nozzle should be there? I have already ordered engine wires and ECU from EP and I will install it on the weekend. Ofcourse I will change all engine fittings this from EP, becouse currently is this from E.

I received a car on saturday from mechanics, and EP engine works on fittings, wires and ECU from E :hopping: Only ignition is moved by 4 degrees, so the combustion can be a bit bigger.
In crankshaft ventilation sholud be a nozzle in the black plastic tee. I have a pic of that nozzle, but i can't add links yet.
