Hang on, I'm pretty sure there's a fair bit of Volvo engineering that's gone in on it.martinholmesuk wrote:Joolz, Might have a Volvo badge on your car but the engine is not a Volvo engine. It's a Renault engine and his put it in a Renault.

It was also a diesel engine originally you know! Doesn't mean you should try sticking diesel in it

And Porsche had something to say in it as well... aside from the chassis part of things, where Lotus was fair enough to give some (well earned) advise.martinholmesuk wrote:Joolz, Might have a Volvo badge on your car but the engine is not a Volvo engine. All in all... it's a Volvo!

I was under the impression they reworked the manifold and upped the power quite considerably!

No, Lotus are supposed to have been involved with the suspension (although I haven't seen any proof, and the suspension doesn't use and Lotus parts I'm aware of).volvo-bigbrother wrote:I thought they did the suspensionrobin_xr4i wrote:Probably about as much as they did to the Seat Ibiza 1.5, basically bugger alldave wrote:What did Porsche do to the engine?
Porsche wrote the engine management system (which then got edited by Volvo).

The suspension was worked on by Lotus.
Not quite sure what Porsche done-i get the impression that it was just general tweaking rather than anything specific...
Found this article though, here. Made some interesting reading...a 480 16v eh?

Unless the subject has been locked, you can edit it. I fact I've just edited it again... someone had the audacity to label it a 3 door hatchback...Dan the 480 Man wrote:Cool!
