Dashboard heater/blower switch with 4 green leds...
Hello.
Gentlemen,
I have been looking for a heater/blower switch like the one that shows in some early 1986 volvo brochures, with 4 green leds instead of white markings.
Can anyone tell me if volvo ever actually sold any 480 with such switches?
Does it exist really? Or was it just used for the publicity shots?
If someone out there has a 480 with this switch could please post a picture so I can put my mind at rest?
Anyone have any ideias how could such a switch be built from a standard one? What would be the required connections since leds operate at lower than 12V?
Thanks

The standard fan switch does illuminate. It has a small bulb hard wired into the casing which has probably blown. It is replaceable but requires a bit of soldering.
@Martin - It was the infocentre switch I did the mod on.

@480's partner: indeed, that switch was only present in the earliest 480, the prototypes used for press-presentations and photoshoots. In the old Volvo 480 introductionbook you can find even more funny stuff, like a heater-control-unit with three(!) sliders:
1) warm/cold
2) direction of air travel (windscreen, vent, ...)
3) recirculation-mode
