Seat Material

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

Seat Material

Post by Roo » Thu Mar 30, 2006 7:24 pm

Does anyone know of anywhere that sells vehicle seat material. I'm needing to retrim a pair of recaro's but finding the material is proving difficult. I tried East Kent Trim Supplies but they no longer stock that sort of thing. Tried on the Ford forum but didn't get much help...
A long shot i know but thought i'd ask. :D

look in yellow pages for re-upholsterers...ie for house furniture.

mi dad had his old jag refurbed by a local upholsterer....cost him 100 notes for a complete retrim in beige leather(ette?)

if its just the upholstery you want...try as above, but be cheecky and just ask for a price on the material.

 not quite what i had in mind...

I'm looking for cloth material, not leather. for the record is a light-medium grey cloth as used on series one recaro's. Groom and murf will know the type amongst others although i suspect not VBB! ;)
I'm wanting to retrim the seats myself, even borrowed my mums sewing machine
I'll give your suggestion a try Rob, cheers. :D

Do you mean the Shark Grey at the side bolsters and base side bolsters and headrests or the centre trim with the fine black dotting Roo?

Had it in my Strato one too, with the rarer blue piping! ;)

Try www.recaro.com >Sitemap>Products>Car Seats

Alternatively Britax Rumbold or Dunlop may be able to help.

Im shocked that the Escort club cant help much, surely there been more re-trimmed XR and RS out there than most other veee-hicles!

The ford site i'm on is a funny place, you seem to have to be up to 10000 posts before your accepted and subsequently helped!

East Kent used to sell the stuff but stopped for some reason. Typical! :wall:

Cliquey twats!

With a Ferrari or prestigious forum you expect the snobbery,it goes with the territory I have found (from owning a Lancia!!!!!)

People lose out so much by adopting this attitude

Their loss thats what I say!
