Favorite Rally Cars
As the Nirex post is rapidly turning into a rally car post, let's leave it on topic and move it over here instead.
So what's your favorite rally car? Doesn't have to be a 'special' just as long as it's competed in the sport. So What and Why?
The entry list for the upcoming NW Rally stages might give you some ideas. If anyones interesting in an early year meet I'm heading over there as some great stages/cars.

Mine has to be the Audi Quattro. Love the styling, mechanics and the results! Unfort I could only afford the poor mans version (Scirocco! )

I love the Lancia Rallye037. Not the most successful rally car ever, turning up just as 4wd was about to hit big, but so beautiful.
And of course the Stratos!
And that big mental Peugeot that Ari Vattanen drove in one of the Paris- Dakkar of the late '80s!

I think that the Pug 205 T16 is a briliant little car, but the kind of rallye I'm into are the regional rallyes, on the little roads of the area, where you can see cars ranging from a BX 16S, to Evo 7's, Impeza"s, plus Porsche, Jidé, and many other old cars, Simca Rallye's, R8 Gordini's, anyway, the cars you usually see are 205 GTi's (1.6 and 1.9) Clio 16S's, and of course, Super 5 GTTurbo's...my favorite !
Don't laugh, they are great cars, handle great (don't belieive what people say, it's got excellent handling), maybe not GTi standard chassis, but it does the trick.
Renault were so over the moon with it when their world championship driver, Alain Oreille, won the champ, they made a special serie of cars called GTT AO...does it remind you of anything...like Alonso and the Megane advert...!!!

Escudo = vitara. Shows how much they modded that one. They must have wanted it 4x4 i presume. Funny what Gran Turismo teaches you.

Eurm...no. The only french cars I like are the only ones that are vaguely interesting. The french build crap cars these days, for sure, if I was to buy a new car, I'd go sweedish again.stu chacks wrote:No suprises there, Sophie likes the French cars bestSophie wrote:I think that the Pug 205 T16 is a briliant little car........... the cars you usually see are 205 GTi's (1.6 and 1.9) Clio 16S's, and of course, Super 5 GTTurbo's...my favorite !

Sorry guys, don't agree with any of you. For me it's the Porsche 959.
Controvertial, because it never entered the WRC, but it could have done. Apparently Porsche reckoned the cost v benefits didn't stack up for doing a whole season. So they just entered it into the Paris Dakar. It came 1st and 2nd.
