idiotic exhaust company

Just got back from ascar in sheffield....normally a pretty good place for stainless exhausts.
wanted to price up a custom pipe kit.....little boy in shop was adamant that the car was a honda civic!!!
in the end, i went to the manager and asked him if idiocy was a prerequisite to working there

will take my business elsewhere....if the pillocks cant tell what it is, when its covered in VOLVO badges, how the hell can i trust them to fit the right exhaust!!!!

That's suprising, considering they have already had a lecture on 480s in the past.

Maybe they saw you, remembered my car and what a hassle it was and didn't want to do it?!?!?

I would go allong with the Longlife reccomendation too.

They will do what you want, ok so you may have to explain a few times that you don't want the normal 'boy racer' style stuff. The quality is good, and the price is not bad either. They make the exhaust, and custom fit it to the car, so you know it's going to be a good fit.

They are also quite happy to make custom back boxes etc, you pay for that sort of thing, but you aren't stuck with a set of standard parts if you want something different.

The lifetime garentee is also worth having. I broke my rear engien mount and damaged the exhaust. They fixed it free, plus sorting out some minor problems where the exhaust expanded when hot and touched the rear plastic trim (under the bumper).

All that applies to Ascar too. They just happen to have used mild steel welds on my stainless system, but they have said they'll fix it when they get the car back, so it's OK.
