Hi Erik,

I just split this from the 'post 480 pictures thread' - please don't use a topic for support questions.

I also stripped your signature since it was humongous

Happy posting,

Daniel

There are tons of websites out there where you can upload images. I use photobucket.com but that's just one of many. Once uploaded you can enter the URL to the image in your profile so that it's visible as your avatar.

Keep in mind what size is acceptable.

You're supposed to host your own image, what's the URL of the image you're trying to use as avatar?

Uploading to the forum is not supported.

You can upload them to one of the many servers that are available for this. As said I have a photobucket.com account. It comes down starting your browser, go to (for instance) photobucket.com to creating an account, log in there, choose "upload images" or something similar and then you can select the images on your computer you want available online. They are then copied/uploaded to the server.

That's about as much information I can give, otherwise try google with "free image upload" or "photobucket tutorial" or something like that.

Once uploaded: when you're looking at the thumbnails on photobucket you can place your mouse over the image and then some links appear that you can use as URL for your avatar. A link should look something like this:

Code: Select all

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v24/coyote1980/sweden2009_850/03_orebro_svampen.jpg
And placing that link in the address field of the browser should load a picture of my other Volvo in Sweden :hopping:
