2 messageboards

phpBB has all the feautures we need and is becoming quickly the 'de-facto' standard in messageboard land so you won't hear me complain about that aspect of an imminent switch from EZ to phpBB.
I only feel that when we use 2 messageboards simultaneously people will get confused.
Still remember the 'difficult' period we had, back in the dark ages, when Edwin's messageboard was discontinued and we started with EZ.
Suggest that we keep the transitionperiod as short as possible.

Well, it's history-time

In 1998 when I bought my first beauty, a Volvo 480 ES from 1987 coloured Graphite Grey Metallic, a guy in Enschede (NL) with the name Edwin Poorthuis ran a Volvo 480 website. With a great forum!

The forum was a package called UltraBoard, it looked OK, but after a while database integrity got destroyed and all content was lost. A part of the content was saved and put in a tekstfile for download (anyone got a copy for me by any chance?). UltraBoard appeared to have several flaws, but a restart was made.

In the begin of 1999 the Volvo 480 Club EUROPE was founded, yes, by me. And we had linked to Edwin's messageboard to "not start another 480 board" and keep everyone together. Somewhere in 2000 Edwin forgot to pay for his domain www.ntwhost.com and the domain was quickly bought by someone making it a porn-site. Luckily everyone on that board knew each other because the club had a memberlist with everyone. So after some time we started using EZBoard as a test. Later we payed for keeping it banner-free.

That's how we started using EZBoard + a little bit of history

I was even a member of the older system, but then it disappeared, moved to EZ during a period of time when I was offline and it took me a year to come back in in the form you know me now
