Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

2004

Post by kirsty_2003 » Thu Apr 15, 2004 2:12 pm

You know your living in 2004 when:

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail your friend who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends is that they do not
have e-mail addresses.

6. When you go home after a long day at work you still answer the phone in
a business manner.

7. When you make phone calls from home, you accidentally dial "0" or "9"
to get an outside line.

8. You've sat at the same desk for four years and worked for three different
companies.

10. You learn about your redundancy on the 11 o'clock news.

11. Your boss doesn't have the ability to do your job.

12. Contractors out number permanent staff and are more likely to get
long-service awards.

AND THE REAL CLINCHERS ARE ..

13. You read this entire list, and kept nodding and smiling.

14. As you read this list, you think about forwarding it to your "friends."

15. You got this email from a friend that never talks to you anymore, except
to send you jokes from the net.

16. You are too busy to notice there was no No. 9.

17. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a No.9.

18. And now you are laughing at yourself!

yes i really played until my fingers bled, in the summer of 69. to quote some canadian rocksinger. (I am from jan. 68 :) ,

I recognise a lot of these items of 2004, but in my mind there still is some 60's, 70's and 80's.

I bet its something all people should have
luck,
JPF

80'ies music in a "for 80" :D

I listen to this classic rock station all the time. never bores. sometimes it is like text they sing is about this woman in your head. makes me feel funny

the cd i like most depends on my mood. at the time it is a "best of " from jimmy hendriks. I have some E.L.O. and O.M.D too. I chill big time at Neil young.

i never was a great consert tourer, or big fan of anyone. All in due proportions. ;)
luck,
JPF

The Ragworm: The first thing to know about ragwom is that they are predators and give sharp nips! The king ragworm can grow to over a foot long (30 cms) and you do not want to get a nip off one of those 'snakes'! There is an amazing supply of them in terribly oozy mud and sand right outside my brother's house in Baldoyle, in the estuary. We have taken lots of monster king rag out of that estuary but we stink horribly afterwards! By far the most common ragworm is the red ragworm, far smaller, unlikely to grow to more than a few inches (10 cms), but don't turn your nose up at this excellent bait. Known locally as "maddies" or harbour ragworm, they are a very effective bait when used in a bundle. The herringbone rag is smaller still and uniquely coloured, whereas the white rag or "silvers" are the prized bait. They are only found at extremely low water, i.e. spring tides, and apparently for some reason next to masonry worms beds (which are useless as bait).
How the hell did that get in the boot?

Kirsty - don't be too ashamed. I'm sure not all of the people who have subwoofers in their boot on this site listen only to classics. You can't justify more than a decent pair of 6x9's for most types of music. (I definately have couple of unmentionable CDs in my car) Hands up (honestly!) who has a ever had a cd in their car that fell into 'Dance' 'RnB' 'pop' or 'rap?

BTW What fish is gonna eat a foot long snake as bait?

- Shark fishing anyone?
