not bad...<br>I have a 3/3 year old Kenwood KDC 8080R (I think) and it skips like buggery on these things we jokingly call roads. It did it in the 480 and is still doing it in the Hairdresser Mobile. Is this bloody normal and if so why the hell can you get a Cd Walkman for £40 with anti shock bits yet car Cd's (which bloody well need them) hasn't got 'em? <br>Can anyone recommend a cd head unit with esp of some sort and 4x40-50watt that doesn't look too pikey and doesn't cost the average gnp of a small African country? <p>"Like the first monkeys blasted into space, sacrificing themselves for the good of mankind"</p><i></i>

You can get a good pioneer head unit with either mp3 playback or OEL display for around £180. I know these don't skip. <br><br>The reason i know is i have fitted one in my cousins escort cabs along with a 15 inch sub and all is fine.<br><br>As for the seal on the rear. All my cousin has done is buy a new window seal. I think it was £7 from the ford dealer. But after he seen the the door builds i have made for a fiesta he now want the same for the rear of the cabs. Another person converted from 6X9's to 8inch.<br><br>As for for me driving i will still beat you until you head and cam is done. I'll check out these Pioneers. Do you know the model number??<br>I guess that the kenwood I have might not like the angle that they are mounted at in Escorts, cos it was fine in various BMW's which mount them horizontally. Do any around this price have Electronic anti skip?? I've only seen a Sony at £300, which I'd rather spend on the bike!<br>Also can you recommend prefabbed door builds? I've seen some at £120 a pair that even retain a bit of the door pocket, but i think that's a bit steep?<br>Good luck with the back, the only answer is to take it really easy and avoid bad posture and heavy lifting. If i remember right you can pick the door builds up from most ford mags for £99.<br><br>As for the stereo's there are too many to list. But the one i have fitted in a clio the other week is the pioneer DEH-P-6500R which has the OEL display but doesn't have MP3 play back. But in the Clio the angle is very steep and touch wood it hasn't skipped even on the bumpy roads of warrick. If you want the MP3 play back then you can go for the DEH-P-5500MP or DEH-P-5530MP. All of these unit can be had for around £180. If you go to halfords though expect to pay around £240 for these units. <p></p><i></i>
