Looks like something that pile of rubbish programme "Chop Shop"* would cook up!
*I call it "Bodge Shop" anyone else seen this? What a backstreet money run business! Shambles! Makes me mad-purely because they are making money from being baboons - what sort of "professional" garage CUTS springs?!!? I mean really?!??!

Cutting springs can be legitimate. If its the open ended spiral type...cutting it would serve to lower and stiffen the car.
YOu can't do it on a dead link type spring obviously, it wouldn't seat right.
Just need to do some maths to figure the effect out before doing it.

They were doing a car for Steve Owen and just cut the springs from the car they were modifying to suit their new build, and one almost came out, and Steve quite rightly went mad cos him and his son were meant to be high speed testing it and it could have ended up with them both being killed!!
