Hello everyone, just thought that I could share this here. Hopefully there is a few future lenders here.
Kiva is a non-profit organization that gives loans to poor people so that they can expand/fix/establish a sustainable income.
In other words, you can lend 25$ to a farmer so that he can buy a new cow, or similar. It's fun and you do a good thing for other people.
You don't get interest for the money you lend, but you can think of it as a charity that pays back. Or if you are trying to save money for something, let someone else use them while you are still saving.
It has approx. 3% non-paying loaners, and that isn't bad considering a total of over 75,000 loans, so it pretty safe.
