Does anyone know of a reasonable overseas delivery company.
I might to need to send a 5.5 kg parcel to europe. (Scandanavia)
So far have found a price of £43 the other was £87
maybe I am looking in the wrong place any ideas folks its driving me mad.

Not so. Within the U.K it appears to be up to 20kg (1st class), and 1000g (2nd class), if it's a "packet".
I don't know if a limit applies to overseas post, but this suggests 5kg as a limit for "International Signed For" mail.

"Books and pamphlets are the only items over 2kg that can be sent by Royal Mail’s international services. These can be sent via Printed Papers up to a maximum weight of 5kg; for each additional 20g add 10p to Europe or 20p to World Zones 1 and 2."
It looks as if only Printed Papers can exceed 2Kg.
For the U.K., things are quite different.
