when we had btinternet the password was in a letter they had sent-ask her if she has any of the paperwork?!
otherwise my next suggestion would be to dump btinternet because we did after we had several rude "customer assistants" who treated us like complete dumbasses-and lo and behold after finally getting someone to come out, it turned out their modem was dodgy...just like i had told them the first time i called up!!

There are a number of mechanical devices which increase sexual arousal, particularly in women. Chief among these is the Volvo 480 ;)

username is your @btinternet.com email address and your password is what ever you use to sign in to check your email.
If its the BT Home HUB that is having the problem, the username is bthomehub@btinternet.com with no password

Was going to say who uses dialup. That US Robotics screen looks suspect. If you are going through a router, and no doubt you are on broadband, you shouldn't see any sort of screen like that!
As VB says, most likely you have the BTHomeHub, if you do, what do the lights etc say on the front when it is plugged in etc?
How is the PC connected to the homehub? Wireless or Ethernet cable [again if you are using a router]

Hi,
It's all fixed. Seems so not that shes rung me. btw it's using DUN because it's connected to a BT frog modem on USB, It's not really dialing a number of course.
Router? That would be nice. She needs a router with AP next for the new laptop then i'll be setting up mac address filtering and some wpa.
cheers folks.
