Forum niggles

Can anyone tell me why my computer might fail to remember my login details for this site? I tick the 'Remember Me' box every time I sign in but it nevers does - I have to login every time I visit.

I am a member of a few other (very similar in layout and appearance) forums and they all seem to remember my details fine.

Is it me?

Check you have cookies enabled ?

Yep, probably cookies. Check your security settings if using IE.

Heh, Internet Exploder. That name's been around since, well the internet

Anyways, there probably is a cookie to remember password for this site, just got corrupted in some way which is why other sites are working fine. Would require deleting all passwords in IE7 and all cookies in olders versions to resolve though I'm afraid.

Thanks for the replies. I have got cookies enabled and have deleted them and also all passwords. Still doesn't work

I've sometimes had the same problem on various other forums in the past.

What link are you using to access the forum main page each time?

If your link is correct then the following tends to clear it up for me;

(In Internet Explorer, on main page of forum)
View > Web Page Privacy Policy

Click on the forum main page link in the box and select 'Summary' and make sure the button is selected for 'Always allow this site to use cookies.'

If that doesn't cure the problem then I'm out of ideas, but this method has always proved successful for me.

I have cured the problem - it appears that the link you posted works fine on my PC and remembers my login details etc.

I was using a different link from northernscum.somethingorother which may have been the issue.
