My new toy (skyline)

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

My new toy (skyline)

Post by JohnTurbo » Sun May 04, 2008 8:15 pm

At Dan's request:-

I'm 25, no speeding, no accidents, 6years no claims...and its gonna still be hard to insure.
Its absolutely bonkers. The exhaust is a full 3.5" system and sounds like the start line of the GP. I'm more of a quiet exhaust kinda guy too.

A few things to sort out...like a cat for some attempt at an mot, but i'll try and haul it to a sat night at some point.

Excuse the cheesy pose...mate Neil made me. lol.

drifting in the skyline is all too easy for those who haven't had a go in one. The only down side is the sheer amount of liquid gold you have to put in to drift the dam thing. It can be as bad as 25 miles for a tenner and i am going back before the silly prices everyone is paying

Always had a soft spot for a Skyline...nice. Oh, you can ignore the picture request i sent in that PM, i hadn't worked my way down this far!

Don't make excuses about the cheesy pose either-we all like to pose when we have a new car! Your Carbon footprint is going to be shit

my m8 damo has a real nice skyline pushing just shy of 400 bhp :D
there absolutley awsome motors
drifting is easy but the real brucy bonus is when u get used to the hicas steering and you suddenly discover that you can corner at stupid speeds without having the back step out :D
just be carefull of the feeling because when the back starts to steer it feels like its spinning out and puttin oposite lock on will send you straight off the line you were taking

having seen youres i now want one even more than i did before im 27 and ill have to wait another year before i can get one after wedding and re-mortgage

@Murf....always wanted one. After i hit 25 it was just a case of finding one for the right money. Similar money to your GT4 in fact.

Many mods could well be temporarily canned for insurance purposes the way things are looking!! Ho hum. They can go back when i can afford it.

Keep the power fc, if your car fails mot on emissions you can just adjust the mixture untill it passes, then put it right back the way it was outside the test station :D
Ive got PFC on my MR2 and its fantastic, you can get any info you want about the engine at just a glance! Knock/injector duty warning light is very handy too.

What sort of weight is it and whats the stock power output?

1350kg, stock power 250bhp.

The power Fc is ace...he's built the screen of the commander into the dash, and the buttons are recessed into an oem look plate in front of the handbrake.

Its nice to wind down the fuelling and see it change on your wideband air/fuel gauge. Nightrider.
