Biggest vehicle

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

Reminds me, I should consider applying for my HGV licence. :)

Biggest vehicle I've ever driven?

Probably a LWB commercial van (various), but it was more of a reverse, swing and park than an actual drive. That said, I probably own the biggest car I've ever driven;

My brother has one of these to taxi his boss around in:

Image

Thats just a pic I got off ebay but its the same just a different colour, and it has 22 inch chrome alloys.

After all the modifications that were done it worked out costing about £75,000

For a tank it is surprisingly easy to drive after a few miles of getting used to sitting in what should be the passenger seat. Just keep as close to the kirb as possible and all is good. I'm insured to drive it incase my brother can't for some reason, like he is ill or something.

I took it to fill it up the other day, even though it had 1/4 left it still cost £105 to fill up  Not bad MPG either, a whole 8 miles to the gallon.

The engine that isin my merc is only classed as a baby coming in at 430bhp. When she is fully freighted she weighs in at 44ton. The max we pull however is 41ton, but even at this weight she will still return up to 8mpg.
So i am dragging 41ton and getting 8mpg and VBB brothers machine can't be more than 3.5ton and still only acheives 8mpg. Its madness i say madness

Well being American it runs on petrol so was never going to be very economical. I think it has something like 335bhp. Also its a 5.7l V8

I'll get a proper picture of it tomorrow

most expensive was my grandads brooklands supercharged bentley ( only out of storage space and round car park ) this was also the weirdest car ive ever driven as the gear lever was out side the car and the clutch was like a lever with a crash box

biggest was the crane at work that we use to lift the jets out of boats and onto the test rig :D I only got to use this once -- boss dont trust me any more

i have never driven anything with a gear lever that wierd, but i drove an old daimler once, and it had a column shift-you had to be ever so gentle cos you could knock it from first to fourth so easy!!

My Brother had a red one of these. Bloody awful to drive! I Hated it!

Biggest vehicle I have driven was a 7.5 tonne Mercedes tipper lorry. Like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MERCEDES-ATEGO-81 ... dZViewItem

But the tipper version. Very strange to drive owing to the fact that reverse is where first is and first is where second is, second is where 3rd is, and so on. Most fun and the tipper was driven off the clutch which is very fun to use!!

I was using it to move loads of earth from one side of a huge field to another.

Its a Krupp Grabber for anyone who wants to look it up. The scale of the thing is hard to comprehend, but you can put a bull dozer in one of those buckets.
