Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

Ok people. I drive about 1500miles a week and on average i spot a 480 a day. I have however never come across another forum member. So there are definitly quite a few out there who haven't discovered us yet.

What mileage are you doing and how many 480's are you seeing on average.

I saw 2 today on my way back from Dudley. One black with custom alloys, looked in good nick, male driver.

Saw a two tone on the A5 duel carriageway heading towards Wolves, I was going in the other direction so couldn't flash my lights.

By the time I got back my car was a two tone, front end was black and the backend was light gray

I do around 250 - 300 miles a week and never see any 480s. Actually, it's rare for me to see any modern classic Volvos, but that's just Northern Ireland for you.

Theres a silver 480 Turbo in the local area however I only ever see that about once every 6 months!

I do about 200 miles a week in mine, and rarely see another 480. I suppose I probably average a sighting once a month, although I did see three in the space of two minutes on one day

Rarity Ha, you should try my 1953 Morris xford MO for rarity, there are only 10 left on the road in the UK. I've only ever seen the Morris six version on the road which is the six cylinder version of it, and that was in South Mimms services actually on the way to pick my MO up from Hertfordshire.

For 480,s I see quite a few a week in my travels as I'm an engineer for Rug Doctor so do about 1200miles a week, though its mainly on motorways I see them so rarely have a chance of getting reg numbers.

I rarely see any on the roads, only see a couple parked up if I look hard enough. I sometimes get a few flashes but I don't know if something is wrong with my car or not so I start worrying lol.

Probably average about 20 miles a week normally, 200 when working, and 600 when travelling :D

I'm quite an irregular driver, as a student :) Thos as I told martin found a guy that was looking at buying a 480 so took him mine for a treat :P - don't know whether it put him off lol

Ian

I'm around Shrewsbury when I'm home but most of the time it's parked up in Durham during term time. Haven't seen one on my travels between uni and home yet :(

i am glad someone baught this up. i can go miles and miles and not see a 480, but ever since moving up to the midlands i have seen a lot more. the only thing is, i dont think there has been one 480 that i have seen that has actually belonged to a forum member...i think there is some educating to be done

I have unexpectedly done over 1000 miles in the last week - east into Lincolnshire, west into Derbyshire, north into Yorkshire, and south into Gloucestershire: number of 480 sightings? ZERO!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you were all enjoying your Christmas pud

Just a thought, if theres many 480 owners out there (the enthusiast kind!!!) who dont know about this club, how about advertising it a little. Maybe a club sticker? Just white writing of the website maybe, something which looks half decent though so people dont mind putting it on the rear or rear-side windows! Or has this already been done? We had one for a club I used to be in for crotch rockets.

Lucky to see another 480 in Galway county, or Ireland for that matter once or twice a year, and I dont know any Irish forum members.
