F1 Championship

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

By no means, I don't want to rub it in...

Congrats to Kimi Räikkönen, the winner of F1 world championship 2007 beating all the odds.

Gutted for Lewis Hamilton, but McLaren cocked it up in China bigtime or he would have been world champion a couple of weeks ago.
However.............protest in against BMW re fuel so maybe there's a final twist yet..................

As for the rugby, c,mon guys, the most consistent team won the World Cup..............end of!!
I just wish the bleating about the try that never was would shut up...........the video ref was right if you watched it in slow motion!

Actualy no mater what also Lewis kind of won. He realy did well the whole year so thats a feat on its own. Usualy newcomers can't do that well. And Kimi deserved the win after all. How long has he been in F1 and have tryed to get what he deserves. He is a realy good driver, faster than schumi.

sorry....but......kimi is a bit of a twat tbh....hes boring, no charisma and the only reason he got anywhere near was because of the cock ups, bitching and infighting at mclaren....oh and the fact that massa makes a pretty good roadblock.
mclaren need to stop pandering to prima donnas like alonso and concentrate on winning as a TEAM....which to be fair ferrari have always been good at.
hamilton did well for a rookie in a rookie year....he hasnt driven like a beginner, and i think if the team manage to get themselves out from up their own arses, he might do as well next year.....if of course he stays with them.

Yes, Kimi might be a dull person, I'll agree with that. But hey, so am I and so are finns generally :) So I can relate to that. He does not complain about the car if its bad, he doesn't complain about the co-driver, he doesn't complain. Actually seems like he doesn't care about anything but winning. Massa and Räikkönen were quite equal the whole season, Massa even bit faster than Kimi, but he didn't care. ;)

When season began and Hamilton started the season quite well - I wanted Hamilton to win Alonso. Nearing the end of season we all saw how the success got to Lewis and in the end it is what took the championship away from him. Also my opinion changed, even so much I wanted Alonso to win over Hamilton and take the championship even if he is a whining bastard. Then we all so how Hamilton had been treated with care by FIA (lifted back to the track etc.) and Bernie. Of course I cheered for kimi but it started to look impossible.

Kimi never said the the championship is now out of reach, infact he said all the time it is still possible, and it was. Just no one believed in him. (Although I betted 20 euros on his championship last Wednesday - 200 euros more Volvo money :D)

We all love underdogs don't we?

Here is the point chart for the whole season.

PS. leaving McLaren was the best decision for Kimi, the teamwork really seems to be the culprit of Dennis' team.

The rookie has his head screwed on and has already said he doesn't want this argument or court fight - if it's not won on the track, he doesn't want it.

The lad's headed for greatness, bring on next season
