how quiet is the forum lately?

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

What? Did someone say something?

The daily post count has decreased over the last few months, don't know why.

it's got boring I guess. I know my interest in the forum is rock bottom but then I have nothing to say anymore. My 480 just works and it's really rather nice feeling when I go outside and turn the key and it's working and I drive off.

I don't even bother much with the spitfire forum,

The love has gone, The spark is no more. It's just a car now that I happen to like but not going to waste much time or effort on. I got better things going on these days.

176 people online on July 13th. :? Where were they all!?

The forum is definitely not what it used to be but then it cant stay locked in a timewarp. Any forum i've been part of has its ups and downs and that can be at different times for different people.
I'm enjoying 480'ing at the moment but i have had my moments both good and bad. Personally i think the forums on its way back up again but thats just my opinion.
Stick with it Rob, we need the regulars!

Yes, i've also noticed. Was saying the same to Roo the other day. It does make me more compelled to read post's properly though, and search a bit harder for things before i put a post of my own!

I guess the time of year doesn't help-i know if it's sunny i'm out enjoying it, and usually too warm in the evenings to sit on the computer, so i just chill with a beer! Perhaps it's good that everybody's 480's are running ok and that there aren't any problems, or perhaps everyones preparing the cars for the meet to make sure they all get there!

I'm still about-useless, but still! :D

Yea I think it's seasonal. Everyone's usually busier in the summer with parties and BBQ's etc so have less time to faff around with cars. Winter is coming though, so i'm sure numbers will increase! I know i still check it multiple times daily...but then again I have no life!

Ive been pretty busy this summer myself and when i do get a spare moment i'm usually under my MR2. The 480 has been pretty problem free (barring those brought on by a female driver) so i just leave it alone and enjoy the rare moments i get to drive it!

must admit that i have been trouble free with the 480....this could be due to the fact its in bits and on blocks in the garage going through a complete rebuild lol....
ps murf......if u get chance, could you pm me the 'inverter' instructions etc?
just one of those jobs i can do to pass the time...car pc install.

Hey!

Yep,I agree.Martin and I used to post on here loads, mainly the Milfus.

There was a more clanny feel. But,nothings forever eh.It is sad. Some folk dont get on for ever either as I have found,or just move on...

Maybe we just all have to live the next section of our lives, realise 480s were better days, then do it all again!

Im having another 480 some day for sure. They leave too lasting a mark on your memory not to!This forum is also too addictive not to "check in" to,even if you have sold yer 480 Im finding.....

Steve ;)

I'm still here, check most days and try to post when I can. I miss all the banter and arguments but like someone said people change and move on for different reasons. Here's to the forums longevity

Well, I suppose I've got better things to be doing with my time these days, renovating a 17th C farmhouse at the moment, then once we are finished with that we're getting married.....its all more important than telling noobs for the umpteenth time to either do a search or just reseal their rear lights and sunroof to cure the water leaks.....

I have to admit I'm beginning to wonder how much more I can be bothered with the 480 - its running well at the moment, but really I need to swap the suspension for that from the shell of mothers old one, and now its just shown the first visible signs of cancer in its rear quarters. I ned to grind out whats appeared back to good metal and repaint, but I simply do not have the time, and can't see myself getting the time this year. Plus the S40 is slow, smelly, and noisy, but it doesn't rattle, or squeak, it starts, stops and goes as it should, and I haven't had to touch it since I got it - and it handles better than the 480! Things really have moved on... The 740 has now been donated to my sister and her bloke who are hammering around the country in it, again without incidence or fault.
Cars are for driving about in, not lying upside down under the dashboard swearing at.

Plus talking to Father this weekend he said if I got rid and got something japanese and fast, as long as it had no less than 2 turbo's (lol) they would go halves with me....

I know exactly what you mean about "not knowing how much longer you can be bothered with the 480" Chris...

The time spent fannying around with them,at some point during ownership, gets too much for some.In the end,the relief from letting yourself buy a different car,can prove muchus theraputic.
Gives ya more time to do what you want then.Bit like when a pet dies I guess, but in a moving metal type way!

More bollocks soon!
:D

SPLITTERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm the kind of person who likes to have something to fix. That and me and FCW go WAYYY back. March 1994 in fact.

I'll keep her going (fast!) while i have enough hours left in the week to do it.
