Has anyone noticed that there seems to be a lot of guests online recently? A couple of weeks ago there were 149 users online, we seem to be getting publicity from somewhere.

someone mentioned a magazine article on haz's turbo campus in another thread, perhaps that? or maybe someones been really good with flyers on windscreens!?

theres generally anywhere between 30-50 users online now during the day....like u say, most are guests.....maybe we should play nice for a while or they will all be scared off???!!!

i know from other forums i read regularly that stupid n00b type posts go through the roof 1-2 months after magazine articles/car shows/other non internet publicity. but if everyone is a guest and not posting, its evident we have a goo searchable amount of quality info, or they may just be bots

dunno how bots work exactly, but theres a variety of 'guests' in all the different fora (plural of forum?).....

gives you an idea of where they are and what theyre doing.....a lot of the ones ive just looked at say, posting a message, but in fact i cant see any new 'guest' posts, so maybe theres some duff info coming through somehow?

That was what I thought too, It is possible that they are trying to post a message but then get told where to go by the anti spam mod. But if it isn't then great, just wish they would sign up and start chatting.

I have noticed a number of people hiding recently too, can't think why, you can't hide from me

Right now, of 23 users online, I am the only registered user. But 9 are reported as posting messages, one is viewing a profile and one is viewing private messages! How is this possible for a guest?

... wait, now there are 44 guests online. At 1 am. Sounds like bots to me. A lot could be Google indexing maybe but the posters must be spambots?
