What not to post on a forum

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

What not to post on a forum

Post by Big Brother » Wed Jun 06, 2007 6:07 pm

Spotted this in the Sun today. As it gave the club website address I thought I would take a look, looks like its a big hit on their forum see here

So lesson, if you are going to post pics of you speeding, don't catch the road in the pic.

Ouch I bet he feels stupid! Surely he can claim that he altered the image to show a faster speed than he was actually doing, but even so..

It appears this has had an effect on other forum members, looking through the thread I found this comment
I went to Morrison's today just to use the cash point - it's the closest one to where I live ... and ... I almost got rammed by someone in a battered old transit van.

He was hurling abuse at me for being a wreckless driver with a killer car ... and a load of random crap about how his daughter was killed by a speeding motorist and that people like me for buying these ridiculous cars are responsible.

Tell me ... I heard all of that ... curbed my gorgeous, just polished and tyre blacked car ... TO GET OUT THE WAY OF HIS FOUL LANGUAGE AND VAN THAT WAS CAREERING TOWARD ME!!! Was I moving quick??? NO! Did I move quick to get out the way ... YES!!!

Seriously ... I invisaged having to arrest him myself for the multitude of offences he was going to commit!

My car is now in the garage ... where she shall stay until all of this dies down.

at least there isn't much hope of anybody owning the average 480 getting caught doing 150mph!

;)

"allegedly" and on "private roads" its possible i think?
not sure just whats the fastest anyone actually has been....on the alleged private roads.....

on topic though....i cant exactly see how they can do anything about it?
the pics or video arent admissable are they? recently my daughter was mugged and we took photos of the bruises etc....then went and the police took pics etc day or two later......they said that ours wouldnt be admissable as evidence as they couldnt be professionally verified, whereas the official police ones could be.....different circumstances i know, but applicable...?
possibly thought they could say that the post itself was an admission of guilt?

max speed is all up to gearing and hp. the 480 just cant go further from a set speed. As it is with all cars. If there is a rpm limiter, then that limist the max speed even if you have a lot of HP.
1996 850R 2.0 T5 - "Beebi R"
1994 480 Turbo - RichMod - sold to get the R
1992 850 2,5 20V - sold to get the R
1987 744 TIC - Haas Tuning - totaled by BMW
1973 142 GL B20E - sold

not 'entirely' true......yes it limits the rpm....but if you had a different ratio gear box, then you would be able to acheive higher speeds for less rpm.

plus, the rev limiter is changeable in the 480 ecu anyway ;)
