Anyone seen 300 yet?

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

Anyone seen 300 yet?

Post by guitarcarfanatic » Thu Mar 29, 2007 6:57 pm

Personally I thought it was brilliant! For about 2 days after seeing it, everything I did was "For Sparta!". Thougth the effects were top class and the fight scenes were just awesome. I think anyone who see's it comes away with a desire to conquer things, drink mead, eat boars, adapt dustbin lids into shields and enter heated debate about whether the Queens nipples were just a bit big... ;) ( and many other manly man things!)

Heard lots of good things before going and was worried it wouldn't live up to it but MY GOD it does :)

screw all the reviews.....watch it....its a proper man film.
killing anything that moves because you can....ah the life.
bit stylised but overall top class.
i especially liked the bit where.....no i wont tell you.
'meatheads' sort of sprang to mind.....but in such a good way.
made me want to get a helmet and red cape......i looked down at my gut though and woke up.

worth watching.....not if youre seriously into history....im sure there fact in there....its just not that important.

errr... I thought it was style over substance and lacked a coherent story line...

OK, I'll give my full fat review, since I obviously love my own opinion so much.

There's only so many ways you can kill someone with a spear!!!!!!
FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!
(javelin for you pedants out there)

and there was a lot of shouting bollocks for no reason.

I did like the fact they at least tried to be different in the production, direction was... eh.... and Sin City was a better film overall, as was Troy (but Troy was more generic). I think they should have a go at doing one of the Alan Moore comics, like the next Batman maybe, because the comicbook form of Sin City worked well with the hyper-real cinematography.

It's not a bad film, because Hollywood can do much much worse, it's just hollow.
