Hi Guys,

Well, I've gone and done it... I've bought a replacement Turbo, except it isn't a Volvo 480.

Couldn't resist...

This is my Lotus Elan SE... great fun. :hopping:

Stu has taken a few shots of the car when we took it for a spin around the hills of Wales, we had to put the roof up eventually... should be some topless shots to follow tho ;) fnar!

That's a nice one indeed.

Kind of reminds me of Talbot...

Though Talbot being much uglier thus more desirable :D

That Talbot Matra Murena looks a lot like the Elan doesn't it?

This is the Elanprototype

I can't see the similarity myself, the Talbot is a Coupe for a start, and much more angular. I think it looks more like the TVR Tasmin or Lotus Excel if anything.

Was lucky enough to have a drive in this yesterday (thanks Brasco!) and gotta say, I LOVED IT!

Having the drop top makes such a huge difference, and it looks a million dollars too. Great performance without being ott, and nice solid drive.

Good choice amigo

Stu.

hmmm, yeah.... it looks like a sawn-off Excel with a soft top.

They only made 3700 of them, and a few hundred went over to the states, so they are a bit thin on the ground... easier to find than an M reg 480 Turbo tho

Nah, it might look like it, but the turning circle is rubbish and the steering is dead heavy. I'm sure your MR2 has nice light steering and is a boon in car parks :P
