Alternative form of transport!

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

Must be a mid-life crisis job (old dude, doesn't like the rain), they don't usually leave the bodywork on the beetle when they convert them, they usually scavenge the engine, 'box etc and junk the rest. Definately different though, and, in a strangely worrying sort of way, quite cool actually. :?

Y reg mk1 XR2 - braw fun, now departed
H reg 480 ES Just Goes, now departed
M reg 480 2.0l S (Chassis No 592056) Even better, still going (for now)
Thinking about a turbo - it's all your fault, mind you, saw a black XR4i the other day...........

rohan.....i actually got to the 'proof of concept' stage

i got an old auto turbo block, wiring ecus etc from a local breakers, and built it into a 'standard' trike frame...
it looked very funny sat there with a battery gaffer taped to the petrol can, sat ontop of a wodden fruit box holding all the looms/ecus etc!

like i said....proof of concept.
the engine needed a lot of work, but even running as bad as it did, it was obvious a normal trike build wouldnt cut the mustard.......the engine produced too much torque and kept twisting the frame!!!
was fun riding up and down my 'private road' to test though......
a very heavy gauge frame would be needed to take the block....especially as i wanted it rich modding too......too much weight against manouverability etc.......was going to be too much work to do it from scratch build.
