Another reason I don't tend to have background images, is all my machines are well used for lots of stuff, and all "current" things are on my desktop for easy retrieval - looking at everyone elses desktops, they all seem fairly clean, mine always looks like this:

LOL
Well if you will run bloatware like Vista!!!![Razz :P](./images/smilies/icon_razz.gif)
I got a 2.4GHz processor and 2GB RAM, and everything runs perfectly.
That's why I use 2K (of any Windows variant)
My laptop has 2GB RAM, a 3.something GHz proc and seems decidedly sluggish when running not much at all - that's XP for you... *sigh*

Meh you should get yourselves onto Linux - I run Ubuntu on my dual processor dual-core Xeon 3ghz box with 4gig ram - its pretty nippy running Firefox and surfing ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/wink.gif)
And my Vista machine at work crashes whenever the screensaver comes on - I can't understand what Micro$oft did to XP - although more bloaty than 2k at least it was semi-stable for a microsoft based platform, Vista is more buggy than a house full of bugs

What the PC? I use it for surfing/e-mails and compiling code - its probably a bit overkill but I'm not a patient man and with the low latency patches I applied to the standard kernel source it doesnt keep me waiting!martinholmesuk wrote:I would expect firefox to run well with dual 3gig cpu's and 4gig RAM.Meh you should get yourselves onto Linux - I run Ubuntu on my dual processor dual-core Xeon 3ghz box with 4gig ram - its pretty nippy running Firefox and surfing
