Joep Vrijling RIP

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

Joep Vrijling RIP

Post by jamescarruthers » Sat Sep 03, 2022 7:08 pm

I’m not on Facebook but thankfully my wife has joined a few 480 pages so keeps me abreast of the world outside our little forum.

She sadly told me that Joep’s son had announced his death today on there. I’m not sure of any details beyond that so if anyone wants to fill in the information on here, that would be good.

He was a nice guy when I dealt with him: his DRL lenses are on a few cars that I used to own and his rear reflector rubber gaskets and rear light seals are on my current car. We had spoken about me visiting on one of my Dutch trips for work before the pandemic and it’s sad to know that’ll not happen.

My condolences to his family and friends left behind.

Yes, very sad to hear. I didn't know him personally, but bought a few parts from him and he was very pleasant.

Very sad news. I had heard he had been unwell but his death came as a shock. He will be missed in the 480 community RIP.

Sad news. RIP Joep. Some of your parts will live on in my car for hopefully many years to come.
