I'd never been before...until yesterday!
Took my MR2 to Crail raceway in Fife to see what it could do. Turned out it was quicker than a lot of cars i expected to rip me apart!

Best time was 13.83 secs @ 101.8 MPH. I feel its capable of more with practice/better driver and a few slight tweaks to the car.
I was pretty chuffed with it overall and a few people came up to me asking what was lurking under the engine lid

Cars i beat:

BMW M3
Lotus Exige
3.0 V6 Mk2 MR2
Tuned 3.0 V6 MR2
Heavily Tuned 2 litre turbo Mk2 MR2
Honda Prelude
Pug 106 XSI (rather predictably!)
Stock Rev3 MR2 2 Litre turbo
Stupid 2 litre cosworth engined Corsa piloted by Chavs!!

Cars that beat me:

Heavily Tuned Impreza WRX when the track was damp
400BHP Nissan 300ZX twin turbo with huge turbos and forged internals etc etc

Got some vids to post up, pity i dont have any pics of the Exige drivers face after i smoked him

Well, heres the Exige video, shot from my mates crappy mobile!
Have to say the lotus looks a considerable amount cooler than my MR2, despite having no pop up headlights!
Have to also take into account that he was running yoko cut slicks whereas i had put my special nankang "race" tyres on so i didnt wear out my Toyos, smokin

Feckin' nora, that 300 certainly picked up the pace at the end! Surprised it moved with all those bean cans stuck to the bumper

Impressive though-how often do you get a side by side straight line like that? Get him on the back roads, then see how close he is...

Apparently its been freshly rebuilt with no expense spared, i'm presuming he's got one little turbo to get off the line and one huuuge one that kicks in later!
Heavy car to go racing in though, 1600kg! Mine is about 1000kg, explains why i wasted him off the line!

Reckon on a track the MR2 would have the edge

Good work, really nice MR2. I want to get one but it's not an option for me right now

I do miss my Mk3 Supra though. Like that 300 ZX it would take a while before it hit full boost and them BAM!
