new arrival in the family!!!

Some things just can't be placed elsewhere. Have you been speeding and got fined? Or spotted a nice new Volvo on the web somewhere? All non-480 messages can be posted in this part of the board.

new arrival in the family!!!

Post by robkendall » Sun Dec 02, 2007 9:08 pm

monster in laws just been to pick up her new car.......yes, its a C30!!
its very very nice.....1.8 SE, sapphire black metallic, 17" alloys, winter pack, hard load cover, brushed aluminium inserts in the interior, aircon, steeringwheel mounted audio controls, 6 cd in dash changer......very very very very impressed....more than i thought i would be.
went with her to pick it up, and as the traffic was bad, she asked me to drive it her home....was a struggle to accept, but as a dutiful son-in-law, i obliged.
;)
drives beautifully.....very smooth, plenty of go for an NA car, handled well in wet round corners....pretty damn good.
interior is a 'bit' plasticy, but the aluminium inserts offset that pretty well.
i very nearly wet myself at the dealers as they had an r-design one in......nearly talked her into that instead!!

she got a really good deal too.....19ks worth of car for a damn sight less than that.....note...if you want to buy new volvo....go at the end of the month and ask them about offers they can pass onto you connected with the bonus volvo pay them per month for selling cars.....lets just say she got nearly 5k knocked off....this on a car with 6miles on the clock and registered for her on the 30th Nov 2007...she picked the reg number etc etc...years free volvo insurance, years road tax.....im taking her with me next time i buy a car!!!

plus....BONUS!!!
shes given me her faithful old 440!!
nice it is too...52 k on clock, 95 plate (N?)...nice!!

well.....as JT has said....40 shy of perfect.......but it aint a bad car to be honest.....bit sluggish due to single point injection methinks, but not bad....did a reset on the ecu and that made a difference.....demon driver she wasnt (isnt), and i think the car had got used to 12 years of pootling around at 30...take it over that and it didnt know what to do!!

given it a good servicing (the car!!!) and it runs great!!!
not a bad addition to the stable....just wish it had been the c30 though :(

Ah ha! Another C30 convert! I think they're really nice, dependant on model of course. They o have that 'Euro' feel to them, in the sense that they're just like all the other Volvo's inside, but in 15 years time, it means there'll be more chance of getting interior spares when all the plastic has fallen apart

Any piccys of the 440? Is this the in-law's one that had the bodykit??

If it isnt, wanna buy one? ;)

I like the C30 too, wasnt sure at first but its growing on me. Only the top models though. Theres a poverty model c30 on a local industrial estate and it looks very dated.
