I like it...
The C30 has grown on me quite a bit.
What i like: The fact there is a little bit of the 480 there-split seats, glass tailgate. It has a T5 model. That there is actually somebody out there who is actually prepared to cater for those with a taste for 'the aftermarket'
What i don't like: The interior is soooo boring and bland. The T5 is also in the Focus, and actually a little slower than the Ford-not fair . The brown bodykit...i mean, why??!
It does look and sound cool in the Video though. Enough to make me consider one in 10 years time when all the boot seals have perished, the lights have faded and i can actually think about affording one
Cool...

nah...
its not my kind of car.. too obvious.. too show-off like..
I like the sound of the car .. and the engine
the T5.. Is it a new developement.. or sortof the same engine as my 850 T5 ?
in that case.....!
whats the weight of this C30 ?
The C30 design is nice.. but I dislike very much the fact that its so high and not long enough seen from the side... front and rear are ok..

monsieur jpf....good to see you about dude....thought you'd gone.
i like the 'arctic camo' paint job on the c30 lol....is fun in a very thumb your nose kind of way.
dont like the car at all....mother in law very nearly bought one....we all went for a ride in it, is nice, comfortable etc etc....but pull up by a focus and its stop the difference time.....the only differences really are the rear end......i dont want to blend i want to stand up and shout 'look at me'
over priced for what it is.....you can bespoke a new one to a degree, like most volvos......but again, too much money for not a lot of car.
all in all disapointed....monster-in-law got an xc70 instead lol.

I just can't bring myself to like anything other than the look or style of the C30.
Frankly how they can use the same chassis and engine in the Focus ST and get the handling so right, yet screw this up so bad on the C30 is beyond me, especially when everything is from Ford's parts bin now. My brothers S80 D5 (yes I know quite a difference here in size/weight etc) but essentially much like all Volvo's (except 400 series cars) have crap suspension/handling. It not set for comfort either, so you have to wonder what on earth they were trying to achieve here? Basically it'll go through bends with the traction control blairing at you whilst the car feels like it's hovering, but it won't go to the trouble of giving you what the 480 or ST does, feedback and responsivness. You can cain any fast Volvo T/D series on the straight, but not round bends like in a 480 or ST and bends are surley more fun and challenging?
Sure, a C30 T5 is fast, but an ST can be driven like a 480 and is much much cheaper.

I've wondered about this for a while now. It's odd, how Ford seems to be using all the Volvo bits it needs to get their line-up in order (T5, switchgear for Astons and Jags, D5 for Landrovers) and Volvo doesn't seem to get any of Ford's know-how on handling back at all. Admittedly for the public at large perhaps the main issue with Volvos used to be the external design, but surely nobody would mind having the handling sorted at the same time?MGB_GT wrote:I just can't bring myself to like anything other than the look or style of the C30.
